Ideas for music video

Friday 14th August
Our first meeting was held at Starbucks, at 12, to discuss our first thoughts and ideas for the music video for "Moon Song"...

Having taken the teacher's comments on board, the lyrics of the song and the bands' name has been our main starting point..
We were drawn instantly to making a video combining both "real-life" film and animation. Animation is a broad media but we thought modelling animation would be exciting. We have all seen at least one film by Tim Burton whom has made some brilliant animations and has inspired us to use similar techniques (imagery).

Visual ideas:

*The video could be opened with the bands name: The Wild Wolves, with the "o" being the shape of the moon.
*The main character could be a Wolf- corresponding to The Wild Wolves name- which will wonder through a wood in moonlight. On the band's myspace page, their logo/icon is of a wolf too so we could use a similar or the same image.

*We loved the idea of the Wolf stumbling across a wooden door then going through it to find a completely different world... Possibilities for what will be through the door- a small tunnel and then an environment with real life people..maybe the band playing a gig...

*The bridge/chorus mentions how the subject is "scared of the light" so this could be representing how the wolf is more comfortable in the dark woods... We had the idea that the wolf could be encouraged by other woodland animals or the people in either 'worlds' to come out of the woods.

*It's a fast and chirpy song which will both help and be difficult to work with, one good thing is that it will help to keep the audience interested whereas the timing of the imagery and film will have to be matching to the rhythm and lyrics.

Our next meeting will be in the next fortnight.

  1. I'd ditto Mr Seal, I also am intrigued by the idea of two worlds.
