-It is a peer-to-peer file sharing programme.

- Project started in 2004.

-Similarly to LimeWire Frostwire is written in Java, so it is capable of supporting multiple platforms.

-Two versions of the programme, free and paid.

-Provides a chatroom.

The Hype Machine

- It is an MP3 blog aggregator created by Anthony Volodkin.

- Created website in 2005 while at "Hunter College".

-Only stream music via Flash Player, not download.

- Lots of links to Amazon and iTunes to get users to buy music legally.
